HOSPITALITY DESIGN – HOTEL TRITON REVEALS $6 MILLION FACELIFT

November 15, 2018

Liubasha Rose and her Miami-based design studio Rose Ink Workshop have nearly completed the $6 million refresh of San Francisco’s historic Hotel Triton. The yearlong update in the city’s Financial District emphasizes a contemporary ethos while also honoring the roots of the property.

“For the Hotel Triton we are thrilled to have been able to stay true to the property’s cultural legacy while creating a bastion of worldly culture and local artifacts,” Rose says. “Just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the busy San Francisco streets, the Hotel Triton serves as a refuge, and with our décor choices a space that successfully brings together the comfort of home combined with the style and sophistication of a boutique hotel.”

A new mural unearthed during the reconstruction serves as the centerpiece of the lobby, showcasing the Mission Dolores in a fresco from artist Jon Oshanna. Eclectic seating populates the bright space alongside cultural artifacts that reflect the cozy Danish influence of hygge. Bordiglio marble floors are installed beneath wooden ceiling beams and a custom, glass-blown chandelier, while large-scale photographs punctuate hallways and the central hotel staircase.

All 140 accommodations have been reimagined with a residential-style ambiance with warm layers, patterned drapes, and extensive artwork. Carrera marble finishes, custom furniture, and elevated drapery will further promote a heightened sense of luxury.
