AMERICAN SPA – MEET THE WELL – AN URBAN PROFESSIONAL’S WELLNESS DREAM

October 1, 2019

The Well is opening its doors in New York City, bringing with it a holistic approach to health and wellness. The comprehensive health and wellness facility is offering personalized plans, advanced technology, an extensive treatment menu, classes, and much more.

The idea for the wellness club developed in 2009 when CEO and cofounder Rebecca Parekh struggled to prioritize her well-being. The similar experiences of her cofounders, Kane Sarhan and Sarrah Hallock, inspired the creation of The Well to bring wellness to fast-paced professionals in the city.

The club’s expert team of wellness practitioners offer functional and integrative medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, sports medicine, Ayurveda, and other modalities. The Well practitioners include chief medical officer Frank Lipman, M.D., head of sports medicine Keith Pyne, D.C., and head of Traditional Chinese Medicine Aimee Raupp, M.S. These renowned professionals help club members address topics such as stress management, sleep, hygiene, gut health, and immunity.

“We believe in bio individuality which means there is no one-size-fits-all protocol,” says Hallock. “The Well is a place where members receive trusted, personalized plans to help them achieve their individual health goals.”

Membership includes monthly sessions with a health coach, unlimited yoga and meditation classes, and access to a private training gym, lounge, sauna, and steam room. Boasting a 10-room spa, The Well also offers acupuncture, deep tissue massage, neuromuscular and trigger point therapy, and numerous other integrated modalities. Educational sessions, support circles, and member suppers hosted by the club give members tips on food, sleep, relationships, sex and intimacy, energy healing, and managing stress and anxiety.

The space inside The Well, designed by Rose Ink Workshop, creates a positive and relaxing oasis. More than 50 different plants were chosen by resident plant whisperer Luz LeStrange, based on the natural healing and air purification qualities. Seasonal rotations occur and feature herbs that double as treatment and culinary ingredients like rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, basil, and more.

In October, The Well Kitchen & Table will make its debut. This market-fresh restaurant, brought to guests by the team behind Café Clover and Clover Grocery, will focus on seasonal, local, and organic offerings with an ever-evolving menu.

For non-members, The Club features a public retail space with wellness products ranging from skincare and tinctures to singing bowls and supplements. All products are sourced from around the globe and are vetted by The Well practitioners for quality, purity, and effectiveness.

“We want to change the narrative and relationship around wellness,” says Sarhan. “This club is our first step towards building a global brand that changes the way people think about their health.”
