MADELINE HOTEL PUBLIC AREAS

In the early 1970’s, French Olympic skier Emile Allais was commissioned to design Telluride as a vibrant ski mountain, bringing the best of European skiing to Colorado. We looked to Swiss Chalet style and Alps Decor and mixed in a uniquely local sensibility to create an environment that is timeless, nostalgic and spans continents. Working with over 30 collaborators and artisans (crafters, artists, sculptors, millworkers, stylists etc) the original inspiration of the project was brought to life.

At the newly refreshed signature restaurant Timbers, we blended alpine details that feel familiar in the mountains and mixed them with rustic and modern elements that give nod to the individualistic nature of Telluride.

The room at Madeline is intimate, comfortable, luxurious in quality and a little undone—as if it’s always been like that. It’s an American ski resort that feels like it could be in the Alps; it really doesn’t look like anything else.
