ASPIRE DESIGN HOME – ROSE INK WORKSHOP MAKES THE EXCLUSIVE CREST CLUB IN TELLURIDE FEEL WARM AND WELCOMING

The recently opened members-only Crest Club at the Madeline Hotel in Telluride feels like the perfectly curated great room in a dear friend’s French Alps chalet. Mysteriously hidden from the exterior, Rose Ink Workshop designed the exclusive space to make guests feel welcome from the moment they step inside. “It’s intimate, warm, meticulously detailed yet a little un-done, and effortlessly chic.” says founder Liubasha Rose.

Comprising two halves — a members’ lounge with a locker room and a bespoke bar — signature fireplaces clad in marble, wood and blackened steel anchor both of the private club spaces. Cozy, vintage-inspired furniture pieces are covered in luxurious mohairs and handsome wools. Taking cues from alpine outings and botanical elements, the rich textiles and one-of-a-kind rugs harmonize the various seating vignettes, while custom wood tables inset with leather and topped with petite fabric shade lamps dot the spaces.

The member’s lounge is well-appointed for a morning warm-up or catch-up. Lined with dark chocolate lounge sofas and inlaid antique mirrors, along with a room-filling wool rug inspired by vintage ski sweater motifs, the built-in ebonized wood cabinetry provides all the curated amenities one could expect before hitting the slopes. Through a discreet door off the lounge, the locker room is an alpine breath of fresh air, woody and serene. Enveloped in head-to-toe wood paneling, the coed space is organized into clusters of wood-clad lockers with metal strapping (each with individual boot and glove warmers!), and grounded by a series of leather benches and flat weave rugs. Marble mosaic floors, lacquered water closets and soft cove lighting finish the luxe restrooms and changing area.

Within the Falcon Room, the club’s jewel box bar space, alabaster sconces adorn each column while amber glass chandeliers illuminate the room in a warm glow. The bar’s face is clad in scalloped, handmade glazed tiles and paired with the beautifully veined movement of its bianco ondulato marble top. The room is wrapped in reclaimed wood paneling, heavily textured and lime-washed, with delicately hand-painted and -carved leaf details throughout. The carpet takes a more artful approach to texture in tonal faux bois. Curated art selections embody the joy of being in nature, including the Telluride Mountain painting of Wilson Peak.
