RIVIERA RESORT

The lobby arcade is a collection of small lounges each with an identity of its own, united by a “green carpet” that runs through the space leading to each guest room. Each individual lounge is a view of Palm Springs seen through a different lens. We layered textures, patterns and especially—color to create spaces that are unique and to invite our guests to choose their “favorite living room” to hang out in. Our art collection sets a fun, happy, and irreverent tone throughout all spaces. The desert landscape is a constant source of inspiration – cacti feel like dinosaur’s plants and we love them. We layer retro neutrals that feel nostalgic with pastels that feel totally of the moment.

The Landing mixes the retro glam of the historic Riviera with cheerful colors and patterns. Mod light fixtures and cocktail tables keep it nostalgic, palm print pillows make it of the moment. The defining architectural feature of the lobby is a series of curved, lit screens that set the background for colorful cocktail seating groups. A preserved boxwood wall at the back of reception takes the guest into a secret passage lined with mint walls, over-scale pendant shades and a fun zig-zag carpet.

Layered with dark hues of forest green, rattan, cork and earth brown, Cantala was designed as a dining destination that’s a cosy hideaway. The space is earthy and features eclectic collections – from the cabinets filled with reclaimed terra-cotta pots full of moss and cacti to the Peter Beard inspired photo art, to clusters of found objects. The outdoor dining is a mix of furniture tied together with festive woven baskets in the natural canopies of the ficus trees.

I’ve always felt like a bit of a nomad in life, so I obviously connected with the Gypsy and the Rose. We made it dark and moody lined with retro tambour and dipped in a midnight blue hue with a surrealist David Lynch inspired black and white, over-scale hex tile floor. The lounge seating consists of comfy velvet armchairs in bohemian shades of pink, and classic cafe Thonet chairs. The crystal sconces were made exclusively for the space by Stone & Rose, while additional brass accents layer a bit of gypsy glamour.
