LUXE DAILY – LIUBASHA ROSE REVEALS HER LOCAL DESIGN FAVORITES

April 17, 2018

THE INSIDER: LIUBASHA ROSE

“It’s creative, open-hearted and exciting with a bit of an edge,” muses Liubasha Rose of her hometown city of Miami. It’s a statement that could just as easily be applied to her own design firm, Rose Ink Workshops. After a stint with Starwood Capital Group, she left to start Rose Ink, where she says she’s led “the most full and happy 2 1/2 years of my life.” A play on her name and favorite color, the multidisciplinary firm thrives on a culture brimming with innovation, out-of-the-box thinking and the art of the handmade. With 2018 just barely underway, Rose has an exciting workload including designing the Hotel Triton in San Francisco, the Kimpton Vero Beach, a luxury resort in Spain and a wellness center in New York, plus, let’s not forget, creating new products for her jewelry-like lighting line, Stone & Rose. When she’s not planning for her next presentation or sketching new design ideas, Rose dishes on her favorite uber-chic outposts to visit.

Roster of go-to furniture purveyors:

Michel Contessa has a beautiful selection of 20th-century furniture; Jalan Jalan is a great place to find pieces with personality; Ace Props offers fantastic vintage furniture for rent and for sale; and Art by God is our go-to for items that are off-the-beaten path such as fossils, minerals and butterfly collections.

On speed dial:

Paloma Teppa of Plant the Future is unbelievably talented and has a totally unique and inspired vision. We’ve been working together since I first came to Miami, and she’s always my first call when I have a crazy new idea.

If you’re looking to treat yourself:

Joanne Stone is the best for beautiful and edgy jewelry. We met at a dinner and decided to collaborate on a furniture and lighting collection. We connected the next week and sketched out every piece in the collection within three hours, calling it Stone & Rose.
