ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST – LA MARCHANDE BRINGS A JOLT OF FRENCH GLAMOUR TO LOWER MANHATTAN

La Marchande

It didn’t take long for the jewel-toned lobby and bar at the Wall Street Hotel, flaunting architecture by local firm Stonehill Taylor and interiors by Miami-based Rose Ink Workshop, to become a well-heeled hot spot following its opening last month in New York’s Financial District. Now, there is a new reason to linger: La Marchande. The handiwork of AD100 studio Charles & Co, the design of the restaurant—the latest from chef John Fraser—conjures a buzzy brasserie feeling. Scalloped pink marble floor tiles set a luminous tone at the bar backdropped by antiqued mirrors. From there, guests flow into the parlor, centered with a raw bar adorned with mother-of-pearl, and then the dining room, where a nature-inspired Watts of Westminster wallcovering melds with booths enveloped in a sublime mohair with a dusty rose hue.
