It’s a long way from Broome to Lower Manhattan, but the Australian Paspaley family has made its mark on Wall Street with this fabulous new property housed in a handsome 14-storey Beaux Arts building. The 180 rooms and suites are beautifully appointed and filled with opulent touches, including Frette linens and well-stocked bar carts; some even have standalone porcelain baths with harbour views. Indigenous artworks and discreet pearl motifs are subtle nods to home but this feels like a New York hotel, with a sumptuous lounge bar and an upscale inhouse French brasserie.
