Liubasha Rose and Leo Novik Collaborate on Tote Bag for BDNY

To show their support for the people of Ukraine during the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukrainian-born designer Liubasha Rose of Rose Ink Workshop has teamed up with Leo Novik, CEO of BDNY exhibiting company Fil Doux Textiles, on a tote bag done in the blue and yellow colors of the country’s flag.

For their second collaboration together, Fil Doux—which regularly makes tote bags with extra product from its manufacturing processes to reduce its waste—crafted a product that shines a light on the suffering of the Ukrainian people. “We went to Liubasha as we are very concerned with what’s going on in the world,” explains Novik, who is originally from Chile. Rose adds: “Tote bags are part of a designer’s daily uniform. They are often simple canvasses to create awareness for a brand or a cause.”

The tote bags will be available at Fil Doux’s booth during BDNY. “We are so lucky to attend a design conference, to see beautiful things made by people from all over the world,” Rose adds. “Hospitality is a global industry that is very sensitive to world news and with this tote, my wish is to create awareness and show solidarity to my beloved country, Ukraine.”

“It’s a point of conversation,” Novik adds. “We are the lucky ones. We have a responsibility to do things well.”
